- Across Languages Translation and Interpretation Service
exists to enable professionals
and their non-English speaking clients and patients to communicate accurately
and effectively with one another through qualified, impartial interpreters and
skilled translators. We possess special expertise in the fields of health, law,
education, social and government services. A non-profit agency with charitable
status, most of our revenue comes from fees. Across Languages is committed to
the development and improvement of interpreter training and standards. The
Province of Ontario has mandated Across Languages to train and provide
interpreters for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as
offenders in the domestic violence justice system. A grant from the Ministry of
Citizenship covers fees for interpretation services provided for victims.
Through the United Way, we are able to provide some coverage for other
interpretation services when fees cannot be paid (London & Middlesex only).
